Fertilisers made in Latvia since 2010

About GreenOK

Company

GreenOK manufactures organic, organomineral and microbiological fertilisers, as well as plant growth regulators. The company’s core business is the research, development and production of humic-substance-based products for agricultural and home use.

The head office is in Riga, while the production facilities and testing laboratories are in Latvia. GreenOK products are distributed across the Baltic states and other European markets, and are also exported beyond Europe, including to countries in Africa.

Raw materials

We obtain our raw materials from natural sources: peat and sapropel are the raw materials for our humic-substance-based products. We use them to make high-quality, environmentally friendly fertilisers that improve soil fertility, promote plant growth and resilience, help increase yields, save water and improve fertiliser efficiency.

Production

We use cavitation to extract humic substances from peat and sapropel. This enables us to obtain a high concentration of bioavailable humic acids while preserving soil microorganisms that are beneficial to plants.

Quality

To ensure product quality, we carefully monitor and test our raw materials and products at every stage of production.

History

Our first humic-substance-based product, GreenOK Universal PRO, was launched in 2010. Today, we have more than 50 different products for home and professional use.

Product development and trials

Since the first Humate Green OK product was developed, product trials have been ongoing in both laboratory and field conditions. New products are developed and tested in collaboration with the Latvian Humic Substance Institute.

Field trials

One of the first trials with Humate Green OK took place in 2010 at the Skrīveri Agricultural Scientific Institute. In a potato demonstration involving Humate Green OK treatment of the tubers and two sprays of the plants during the growing season, the yield was higher than in the untreated control.

Seeds and root system

A study of the effects of Humate Green OK on seed germination, germination energy and root-system development confirmed the activity of humic substances and their beneficial effect on plant growth and development.

Laboratory work

In collaboration with the Institute of Biology of the University of Latvia, the effects of Humate Green OK humic substances on flax somatic callus culture were studied, and a phytohormonal (auxin) effect was observed. The microbiological composition of Humate Green OK was also identified separately.
