Use of Humate GreenOK and Green Cytokinin in the potato cultivation in the open field
In 2010, Skriveri on poor sod-podzolic sandy soil: pHKCl – 6,0, P2O5 – 262 mg kg-1, K2O – 157 mg kg -1, organic substances, and total nitrogen content -3,0% – 0,15%; demonstration experiments were settled to test the influence of Humate Green OK (humate substances concentration of 2 g /l) on the potato yield.
Variants in potato experiments:
1. Control (without treatment)
2. Humate Green OK (treatment of tubers + spraying 2 times),
3. Green Cytokinin (treatment of tubers + spraying 2 times)
The potato ‘Madara’ were planted in early May, nine tubers in 1 m ² in four replicates. As the main fertilizer was used the fertilizer Kemira NPK 10-10-20 500 kg/ha. In one version the potato tubers were treated with the working solution of Humate Green OK (working solution: 10ml of concentrate to 1 liter of water) 40 ml per 1 kg of potatoes, in the second version the tubers were treated with the working solution of Green Cytokinin (working solution: 5 ml concentrate to 1 litre of water) 40 ml per 1 kg of potatoes (potatoes were dropped in one layer on the film and tubers were sprayed from all sides, then tubers were covered with film and they were held until complete drying.
The first spraying was carried out when the plant height was 10-12 cm, the second – during the formation of flower buds. Standard dose of spray is as follows:
- working solution Humate Green OK (5 ml to 1 litre of water)) 40 ml / 1 m2
- working solution Green Cytokinin (2 ml to 1 litre of water) 40 ml / 1 m2
Yield was harvested in early August. The data of the yield was mathematically processed using analysis of dispersion.
The results showed that treatment of potato tubers and 2-fold spraying of plants during the growing season Humate Green OK un Green Cytokinin had a positive effect. The use of Humate Green OK for growing potatoes ensured significant increase of the yield from 1 m2: on average, 1.13 kg or 21% more in comparison with the control (Table 1). The increase of the yield using Green Cytokinin was 0.91 kg or 17%, which is significant in comparison with the Control, but compared with the Humate Green OK the results are about the same, and mathematically are within the framework of experimental error.

On average, from one potato plant, using Humate Green OK, 8 tubers were obtained with a total weight of 0.73 kg, from the plant of control variant – 10 tubers with a total weight of 0.60 kg, and, using Green Cytokinin ( 9 tubers with a total weight of 0,70 kg.
It should be noted that, in the variants with the use of Humate Green OK and Green Cytokinin ( ubers were more adjusted by size and the average weight per tuber, respectively, amounted to 81-97 g and 71-81 g in comparison with the control – 56-70 g

The results of the demonstration experiment showed that the use of both Humate Green Ok, and Green Cytokinin ( n the potato cultivation is more effective and provides a substantial increase of the yield.
